N4i, the Nijmegen Institute for Infection, inflammation and Immunity is a major research institute performing clinical translational and basic research on the interaction between microorganisms and the host, the inflammatory response and immune mechanisms as occur in autoimmune disorders and transplantation.

N4i also acts as an umbrella for the clinical centres dealing with infectious diseases (auto)inflammatory disorders and immunological diseases.

Training of students of medicine biomedical sciences as well as bachelors, masters and PhD students in the fields mentioned is a main activity of N4i.
